Once again, I did something in order to find out why I did it.
For those of you who haven't seen my YouTube video, here it is:
Jordana del Feld y Marcelo Solís Bailan “Historia de un Amor”
You've got a lot of huevos, Jordanita, publicly posting a movie of yourself dancing while you're still where you are in your process, you say?
Well...yes! I intended the video as a training aid, but when Marcelo suggested it could be good publicity for my upcoming show, I realized, not only was he right, but it could also be a great opportunity for me to act in accordance with my creed. I'm always saying that we should own where we are in our lives and be proud of it, and that we must commit ourselves fully to process and to the moment. If we do that, nothing else matters. If we don't do that, nothing else matters.
We live in an “Us and Them” community. But by now I know enough of “Them” to know that on the inside, “They” feel just like “Us!” I've also watched “Us” turn into “Them” enough times to know that the metamorphosis does not happen overnight.
I've always done best as part of a group organism. Doing things alone, I don't do them very well. Doing things as part of a group of people, the bigger the better, I grow and thrive. What better way to metamorphose than to bring everyone along with me!
Some people I know have come out with a three-cd-system of syllabi and tests for tango, in bronze, silver, and gold. Someone else I know is excited because a teacher taught his “signature move” at a workshop.
We all know what I have to say about that.
Watch this space. In another six months there will be another one. With whom I don't know. I don't know where. I don't know what I'll be wearing or with what technical idea I'll be mutzing around. But I can't wait to see how we have all grown and where the moment takes us.
